I will ensure the dog is safe, fed, exercised properly (based on the health needs and temperament of the dog), loved and cared for.
I will contact the rescue in advance for authorization before incurring any expenses, medical or other, unless a dire emergency. Failure to do so means the foster will be responsible for the expense.
I will help the dog to become familiar with their new environment giving them time to adjust. Keeping in mind, during this adjustment period, many dogs forget their potty-training and/or social manners. This is completely normal and expected. Be patient with the dog while they learn their new routine.
I will assist in the placement of the dog in a new home. This may mean communicating with potential adopters, setting up meeting times and bringing the foster to meet the applicants.
I will report immediately any behavioral, health or safety issues regarding the dog in your care.
I will contact us immediately if for any reason you are no longer willing or able to meet the needs for the dog in your care. We will at that time place the dog in a new foster home as soon as possible.
